Velas Turtle Trip Experience by Arti

I was honestly very skeptical about joining this trip at first – not sure if it was my thing. But I’m so glad I went for it because it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and fulfilling trips I’ve ever done!

A big shoutout to Parin Shah, our wonderful organizer, for crafting such a thoughtful and heartwarming experience. The entire trip was so beautifully crafted – from the serene beach vibes, watching turtles in their natural habitat, to soaking in the simple charm of village life – every moment was special. The local food was absolutely delicious – simple, home-cooked, and made with so much love.

But the highlight of the trip? Witnessing turtle hatching and releasing the baby turtles into the sea. It was magical, emotional, and something I’ll never forget. Being part of that moment felt so special and grounding. The story about Velas village and the conservation efforts to help rescue and protect the Olive Ridley turtle species was an eye opener and add to that the sunset from bankort fort, visit to Harihareshwar temple – every moment felt straight out of a storybook!

What truly made the trip stand out was the amazing group of people – such a beautiful mix of different generations and backgrounds, yet it felt like we’d known each other forever. The energy was pure, warm, and real – just like a traveling family.

And now, the squad:

• Shrutika, with a memory so sharp, she remembers what you said before you even say it – bless that sarcasm-powered brain.

• Kevin, my unofficial adopted kid for the trip – energy level: infinite!

• Dhruvi and Saumya, literal bundles of cuteness and joy – spreading smiles nonstop.

• Chetan bhai and Mital, our adorable love birds – so sweet it almost gave us all cavities.

• Madu, our sarcastically titled “Yoga Guru” and youngest, with wisdom way beyond her age.

• Vinit, the most hilarious soul on the trip – honestly, should consider stand-up.

• And of course, Parin again – the glue that held us together, part-leader, part-friend, and full-time vibe curator.

Thank you, Parvat Buddies, for turning strangers into family and moments into memories. Already waiting for the next crazy, wholesome, and laughter-filled adventure!
