Peb Fort also known as “Vikatgad” is located in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
We chose the route of Matheran toy train track to reach the fort.
Walking on railway tracks surrounded by dense jungle, admiring valley views, walking along the hills, Sun shining on us, sometimes it was windy also, we kept hydrating ourselves time to time, one or two Tricky Rocky patches, Scary ladders and we made it to the Top!
It was windy there,we enjoyed a 360 degree view of the entire Matheran Hill range.
Then, we decided to go to Matheran by walking along the railway tracks through Jungle in search of good food beacuse we were hungryyyy!😅
Also,we were fascinated by a huge lord Ganesha idol within Matheran Hill Range known as Kadyavarcha Ganpati, carved out of a single rock.
We enjoyed Star fruit, kairi, bor, lemon juice along the way. Had food in Matheran Market, walked to Charlotte lake, enjoyed gorgeous Sunset there.
We started back with our walking again after sun set, had our torches out, our body was hurting, we walked around 20 kms for almost 12 hours.
Parin though hurt his knee early in the trek, he amazingly completed and guided us troughout the trek. We all clicked a lot of photos, shared stories, chatted along the way, Tejas's storytelling made it bearable to walk back . Had a hell of a time with everyone.
Though it was just a trek to Peb Fort it eventually turned itno night trek(we could see stars as sky was so clear), crossed forest in night ,it was Adventurous.
Also , a tip to give if sole of your shoes come out wear your socks on shoes. And Save your day!😅
